About Us

Meridian Consulting provides commercial insurance carriers, corporate risk management, and brokers the most complete assessment of property loss through The Meridian Difference. Our executive team of Buddy Barrows, Don Ney, and Johnny Whitted, with over 80 years of combined experience in the restoration and remediation industry.

Within the commercial property industry, there are many consulting firms that provide a specific understanding of certain areas in the restoration and remediation side of property losses. Clifford (Buddy) Barrows has been in the commercial and industrial restoration industry for the past twenty years. His areas of expertise include project management, disaster management and recovery, critical path coordination, mold evaluation, quality control, operations and commercial insurance consulting. He has an IICRC (Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration certifications in various disciplines), Infrared Thermographer Level 1, CRMC (Certified Restoration Mold Consultant), Hazardous Waste Operation 40-hours, and Confined Space Entry certifications. Meridian Restoration Consultants is licensed in the state of Texas as Mold Assessment Consultants. He has worked with national and international catastrophe management companies specializing in facility and content restoration following fire, flood, and other disaster situations. Buddy has conducted seminars on disaster recovery at conventions throughout the country for national and regional organizations, such as PLRB and RIMS. He has worked with Fortune 500 Companies in developing comprehensive Disaster Recovery Plans. Buddy has consulted in diverse industries including power plants, manufacturing facilities, water treatment plants, hotels, hospitals, schools, food processing plants, high-rise office buildings, restaurants and other types of commercial properties throughout the world. Buddy worked actively for seven months with responsibility for securing and overseeing restoration and remediation efforts at multiple commercial buildings following the 9ll disaster in New York City. He has overseen large restoration projects on an international level and spent eight months in Israel facilitating the restoration of an electric power plant.

Don Ney’s background consists of over 30 years in the field of commercial property recovery and restoration. Beginning in 1974, Don’s work with a national restoration company taught him how to deal with complex issues relating to property recovery. In addition, Don directed training in loss recovery and restoration, both for in-house personnel and for property adjusters. He’s experienced with a wide variety of commercial property losses, including post 9/11 clean-up, high-rises, industrial, manufacturing, and other types of commercial property losses resulting from flood, fire, mold, and other natural disasters. Don has served in a variety of roles with national cleaning and restoration companies; as a national operations manager, project manager, and various sales and marketing positions.

He is licensed by the State of Texas as a Mold Assessment Consultant. He also is a certified thermographer, and is IICRC certified in various disciplines. His knowledge of effective property recovery and pricing is available to the commercial property insurance community.
